Definition
Chile's Framework Law on Climate Change, Law 21.455 enacted in 2022, writes carbon neutrality by 2050 into law and establishes a system of binding climate planning: a long-term climate strategy, sectoral mitigation and adaptation plans, and climate action plans for every region and municipality. It also enables emissions limits and compensation systems for major emitters.
