When a company links reusable evidence to a claim, it now appears while creating a Claim Passport, with its recorded expiry carried into the versioned record.

The quick check now recognises common ways companies phrase environmental claims, including claims about what a product does not contain.

Reviewing a document now takes three plain steps, with earlier uploads shown first, and the site gains several security and data-integrity safeguards.

Claim words in all 24 EU languages, national rules re-checked and pack sources

Packs and long reports are now read for core environmental claim words in every official EU language, the 27-country reference has been re-checked against official sources, and each pack claim shows which source found it.

  • Neutral, eco-friendly, sustainable, recyclable, recycled, compostable, plastic-free, organic, certification, footprint and less-plastic wording is read in all 24 official EU languages, on packs and in long reports
  • On food packs, words such as ecológico and ökologisch are read as organic claims, with the certification evidence they need
  • The 27-country reference was re-checked on 15 October 2026 against official journals and parliaments, with a direct link, a pinpoint and the check date for each country; Bulgaria now has a published law
  • A pack claim shows whether it was found in the pack text, in Open Food Facts label tags or by Open Food Facts logo detection, and single-source finds are listed to check on the pack photo
  • Two more Annex I points are read: claims about a whole product or business (4b) and features the law already requires (10a)
  • An unfinished quick claim check on the home page can be restored in the same tab

Pack photos: labels, organic and claims in five more languages

A packaging photo is now read for sustainability label names, organic wording and claim words in French, Spanish, German, Italian and Dutch, each with the evidence it needs.

  • Label names such as Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance, MSC and FSC on a pack are read as label claims, with the scheme, holder and scope to check
  • Organic wording such as organic, bio and biologique is read with the certification evidence it needs
  • Neutral, generic, footprint, sustainable, recyclable, compostable and plastic-free wording is read in French, Spanish, German, Italian and Dutch

Check claims on packaging photos, and longer reports

A product or packaging photo can now be reviewed like a report, with packaging claims read against the evidence each needs, and reports of up to 250 pages can be added.

Reviews of long sustainability reports now flag the company's own claims rather than quotations, definitions and background, list the likely claims first for the reviewer, and produce a complete PDF.
