EU Batteries Regulation
Definition
The EU Battery Regulation, Regulation (EU) 2023/1542, replaces the Batteries Directive and regulates batteries from production to end of life. It introduces carbon footprint declarations for electric vehicle and industrial batteries, minimum recycled content, supply-chain due diligence obligations, collection and recycling targets, and a digital battery passport.
